Solent Pharmacy is embracing new ways of working to support growing demand for clinical services. As one of the first sites to pilot EMIS-X®, this pharmacy is using our modern, cloud enabled system to complete clinical checks online, with the flexibility to work remotely while staying connected to the dispensary workflow. This approach has freed up time and capacity to focus on delivering clinical services, while continuing to provide safe and consistent patient care.
Like many pharmacists, Hashim Chowdhary now spends much of his day delivering patient care outside the dispensary. By using EMIS-X, he can now carry out clinical checks remotely whilst maintaining near real‑time visibility of dispensing activity, ensuring the pharmacy remains supported even when he isn’t physically on site.

Solent Pharmacy currently uses EMIS‑X for one day a week of remote working, with Hashim logging on from home for several hours at a time. During these sessions, he can complete clinical checks, support the team during peak periods and prevent backlogs from building.

Just as importantly, EMIS‑X gives Hashim a clear view of how the dispensary is coping. Clear dashboards show prescription queues and items awaiting processing, allowing him to quickly assess workload and intervene early if pressure is building.
