The UK’s most tech-ambitious healthcare teams have been celebrated at the inaugural Enlivio Health Awards.
Held as part of the Enlivio Health Ignite Summit - the first official event following its transition from EMIS - the awards recognised pioneering healthcare teams using digital innovation to deliver exceptional patient care.
The winners, announced on Thursday, 1 October, included:
Chatfield Health Care, which received the Practice with a Purpose Primary Care award.
The Battersea-based GP practice was recognised for its veteran-focused initiative embedding inclusive, proactive care into everyday practice.
With dedicated monthly GP clinics, home visits for housebound veterans, and systematic identification of Armed Forces status, the practice improved access, continuity of care, and early intervention for a population that can face significant health inequalities.
The work carried out by the Chatfield Health Care team to improve the health of veterans has also received royal recognition, including a visit from His Majesty King Charles III.
Collecting the award on the evening, Dr Waqaar Shah, a GP partner at Chatfield Health Care, said: “This award is wonderful because it recognises the efforts we have made and our ambitions to deliver better healthcare. It also allows others to see what’s possible and give them inspiration.”
Receiving a special mention in this award category were Dr Rasib & Partners, Bredbury Medical Centre and Digital Transformation Lead Muhammad Bilal Ahmed.
The Community Pharmacy Connect Award was given to Porthcawl Pharmacy.
Based in Porthcawl, South Wales, Justin and Victoria Reed have transformed one of Wales's largest dispensing pharmacies through a strong commitment to innovation, automation and patient care, demonstrating how technology can support better access to care and sustainable pharmacy growth. By investing in technologies such as a BD dispensing robot and embracing EPS in Wales, they have improved efficiency, safety and patient experience while creating capacity to expand clinical services.
The group Community Pharmacy Connect Award was given to Magna Healthcare.
This award recognises a community pharmacy that is building stronger connections between people, services and support. Through innovation, collaboration and a commitment to patient care, they are helping improve access to healthcare and making a positive impact in the communities they serve.
Magna Healthcare has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to innovation in community pharmacy. As an early adopter and trusted development partner, they played a key role in shaping ScriptCheck, helping transform it into a solution that improves efficiency, safety and workflow for pharmacy teams. Their leadership continues to support more efficient pharmacy services and create greater capacity for patient care.
Sirona Care & Health CIC was named as the winners of the Care Closer To Home’ Award.
Through its Community Wellbeing & Health Fund, Sirona has adopted a preventative, community-based approach to reduce health inequalities, strengthen local support networks and help people live healthier, more independent lives.
It brings together local authorities, voluntary organisations and community groups to provide coordinated support and earlier intervention.
Digital innovation underpins this work through the use of Enlivio Health systems, enabling secure information sharing across community services and GP practices, improving care coordination and supporting the early identification of vulnerable individuals.
Innovative work by East Cheshire NHS Trust and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were also celebrated within this category.
Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent ICB received the Better Together Award.
The ICB successfully uses population health insights and collaborative working to identify and address health inequalities across communities. Vitally, the programme supports more equitable access to services while improving outcomes for underserved populations.
The Behind the Spark Award was presented to AccuRx.
AccuRx delivers integrated digital triage and communication tools used by approximately 96 per cent of GP practices in England. The platform helps reduce administrative burden, improve response times and create faster, more accessible patient care.
Joy (trading as Pungo), Inhealthcare and Doccla were also celebrated for making the shortlist.
The Enlivio Impact Award was presented to Chorley and South Ribble Healthcare Network for Best Initiative.
Through an innovative digital pathway developed in partnership with the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance, the team has transformed how patients access specialist skin cancer care. In just two years, they have screened 20,000 patients, saved an equivalent number of GP appointments and reduced referral times from 14 weeks to less than two weeks. By combining digital innovation with clinical collaboration, they have improved access, enhanced patient outcomes and created a model with the potential to transform care far beyond dermatology.
The Ignite Award – recognising best individual contributer – was presented to Anne-Marie Mountford, assistant practice manager at Balance Street Surgey in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.
As a trusted partner in the development of new digital solutions, Anne-Marie has provided invaluable frontline insight, helping shape initiatives such as PharmaOutcomes and the GP QOF Dashboard. Through her willingness to embrace change, test new ideas and help others succeed, she has played an important role in driving innovation and continuous improvement across primary care.
"Everyday teams on the frontline of the NHS achieve extraordinary things. Their commitment and passion to caring for their patients, even those hardest to reach, needs to be celebrated. That’s why evenings like this are so very important. “I would like to congratulate every team nominated for their outstanding success in transforming patient care and tackling health inequalities. You’re true inspirations to us all at Enlivio Health.”
The glittering awards ceremony was held at the Enlivio Summit at St Pancras Autograph Hotel, London. The evening was hosted by renowned technology journalist and broadcaster Lara Lewington.
