Enlivio donates IT equipment to Transforming Lives for Good

Enlivio Health (formerly Optum | EMIS) has donated over one thousand items of IT equipment, including laptops, printers, monitors and projectors, to UK children’s charity, Transforming Lives for Good (TLG).
The initiative first arose in early 2020 at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic when children had to study remotely. With many children not having access to IT equipment at home, Enlivio got in touch with TLG to arrange a donation to support children with digital access at TLG Education Centres.
TLG received a number of laptops from Enlivio, which were reconfigured, and placed into the Bradford TLG Education Centre. The Bradford Education Centre were relying upon a number of much older machines, which were fast becoming obsolete. The donation of these laptops from Enlivio, enabled not only major cost saving for the centre, but enabled the students to continue with their work at home.
Further donations of desktop machines and monitors were then received by the TLG Wakefield Education centre, which again replaced the entire line-up of older machines that were present. This radically improved the ability of the staff at the centre to not only deliver more effective lessons, but it also improved the impact for the students themselves at the centre.
The impact of this donation was best outlined by Gavin Budby, the TLG Wakefield Centre Manager:
"Just wanted to say thank you for the kind donation of monitors, laptops and desktops.
"Due to school closures, students have had no choice but to access their learning from home. Though TLG Wakefield has continued to keep its centre open for students to attend, we were forced to adapt to a blended timetable. This meant that students would be in centre for half a day and the other half would be them learning from home via a laptop and online platforms.
"Because IT equipment is expensive and the requirement to provide students with laptops that at the time of closure we did not have, your donation meant that we could ensure students could access this online learning and their curriculum, and have not fallen behind while at home.
"Once again, on behalf of the staff and students at TLG Wakefield we would like to say thank you so much."
Further donations have also been received by TLG from Enlivio, that have directly benefited TLG Education Centres at West London, Tendring, Manchester, Bolton and North Birmingham. It’s also enabled TLG education staff to distribute recycled desktop machines to students to take home with them for educational purposes.
An overhaul of all existing machines was also undertaken at the TLG Reading Education Centre, where students have been benefiting from improved laptops, and the use of donated desktop machines that Enlivio supplied.
