Enlivio approved for EPS development work in Wales

Pharmacies in Wales are preparing for a new era of efficiency following the recent national approval of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
In response to this development, we’re delighted to announce that Enlivio Health (formerly Optum | EMIS) has been selected as a technology partner to help Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) deliver EPS. We’re working closely with the DHCW team to develop ProScript Connect in line with project requirements, ahead of live testing this summer.
The introduction of EPS across Wales plays a vital role in modernising healthcare. Patients will soon be able to collect prescriptions from their nominated pharmacy without the need for a paper script, ensuring a safer and more efficient dispensing process.

Ian Shackleton, Director H Shackleton Ltd pharmacy, said: “We are delighted that Enlivio and their ProScript Connect PMR system will soon be offering compatibility with the launch of EPS across Wales.
"EPS will save time and improve efficiency in both GP practices and Community Pharmacy. As part of a three-stage rollout, we will soon begin work on both tier 2 and 3 of the Community Pharmacy System Innovation Fund, established by Life Sciences Hub Wales (LSHW) and Digital Medicines on behalf of Welsh Government, which includes updates to support the further delivery of paperless processes in community pharmacy, and the ability to send push notifications to the NHS Wales app.
