Local Services is a digital triage and referral solution that helps primary care teams assess patients’ needs and refer them to appropriate local providers, including community pharmacies.
Built using EMIS-X® technology, it integrates with EMIS Web® and PharmOutcomes, automatically recording referrals in the patient’s EMIS Web record.

We’ll work with you to configure additional local services, from smoking cessation support to services delivered under Patient Group Directions (PGDs). With optional built-in triage and configurable provider directories, you can tailor the routes available to your team.
Across a Primary Care Network (PCN), this helps practices build local referral pathways into everyday working and use community resources more effectively.
Less admin, more insight
Once you’ve made a referral, Local Services automatically codes it back into the patient’s EMIS Web record using SNOMED CT.
Reporting on triage assessments and referrals also helps you understand your patient population’s needs, giving you insight to inform how you shape local services.
A clear next step for Pharmacy First
Our clinically authored Pharmacy First Triage guides non-clinical staff through a question-and-answer form to identify patients who may be suitable for referral.
They can then search the community pharmacy directory and select the patient’s preferred pharmacy.
